Time: 12:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Cost: $55 plus materials (metal supplies will vary depending on how many pieces you make)
Instructor: Phyllis Riegle
In this Metal Etching workshop, you’ll learn the basics of working with sheet metal to create pieces with a raised image of your choice. You will learn to use a resist to apply a design on copper, then a chemical to etch into the metal. We’ll be using copper and brass in this workshop. The pieces you create can be used for jewelry, or any number of other projects!
You’ll also learn the basics of cutting, filing, and shaping metal. Please be sure to wear clothing you don’t mind staining, as the etching chemicals will stain like iodine.
Bring your great design ideas to the workshop and create a one of a kind piece of jewelry.
